Present: Ted Manning, Howard Stanley, and Lorne Bowerman.

Regrets: Jack Hobbs and Rhodena Bell.


  1. Ted opened the meeting at 7:30 PM. Lorne will circulate a draft of the minutes to the Board prior to publishing them on the Internet.

  2. Lorne moved seconded by Howard that the agenda be accepted. Carried.

  3. Lorne moved seconded by Howard that the minutes of the August 8, 2008 and the minutes of the special meeting on August 31, 2008 be accepted. Carried..

  4. Financial: Howard reported we have 39 paid members and a bank balance of $1,589.17 as of October 28, 2008. Howard moved seconded by Lorne that the financial report be accepted. Carried. Lorne submitted bills for reimbursement totaling $316.20, comprised of $72.00 for domain name renewal for two year; stamps for the August newsletter of $54.60; hall rental of Watsons Corners Hall for the AGM of $75.00; stamps for the October newsletter of $54.60; and copying of the August and October newsletters and copying for the AGM of $60.00. Howard moved seconded by Ted that the bills be reimbursed. Carried.

  5. 2008 Lake Testing. Ted reported that the results of the chemical testing showed that the lake was a little more acid. The rest of the results were similar to previous readings.


  1. Lake Management Fact Sheets. Lorne reported that he had separated the lake level from the lake water data. He has put up on the website the part concerning the condition of the lake water itself, called The Lake and its Water. He updated and circulated another draft on the lake level. A good discussion of the paper was held. Both Ted and Howard had a number of comments. Because it was circulated as a .PDF file, they could not make suggested changes. Lorne will provide them a .DOC file that they can edit in Microsoft Word.

  2. A good discussion was held on marker buoys. There are a number put out by individuals on the lake. The Executive suggested that the marker buoys be in place from the May long weekend to the Thanksgiving weekend in October.

  3. The next regular meeting will be hosted by Ted at 1980 Saunderson Dr, Ottawa on Tuesday, April 14. There being no further business, Howard moved seconded by Lorne that the meeting adjourn. Carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM
